The Flying Yogis Beginners Yoga Courses are the most detailed courses you can find. As well as learning how the pose is broken down to suit all levels, you will learn their benefits; the mythology behind their sanskrit names; and you will learn pranayama (breathing) and dharana (focused meditation). This class includes: strong vinyasa flow; inversions; deep backbends; arm balances and bound poses.Β

This practice isΒ rich, diverse, and integrative. Weaving the elements of movement/asana + rejuvenating breath + mudra + micro movement, stillness, organic movement, mantra/sound/vocal vibration + rhythm + meditation, together invigorating and enlivening the flow of the intelligence, wisdom, and life force throughout your entire being. An incredibly generous, restorative, and revitalizing practice for your body, mind, emotions, energy and soul. Nourishing the connections of wholeness, clarity, and expansion. Opening the meridians (energy channels) and removing all blocks in the body. A powerful combination for the body, mind, and emotions to experience detoxification, strengthening, and revitalization. Activating and strengthening the body’s self-healing capacities. Each practice plays with various rhythms and paces and varies in physical intensity from class to class. Open to all levels.

The aim of this course is to have fun while getting fit and strong learning some of Yoga and Gymnastics most enjoyable skills.
Mastering handstands and backbends has just as much to do with eliminating fear, opening your mind and embracing challenges, as it does benefiting every aspect of your physical body.

To master handstands and backbends, you will need:
strong core
strong, agile shoulders
flexibility in hamstrings
strong, agile spine
an understanding of biomechanics
to eliminate your fear
Each Week, we work on:
20 minutes warm up
30ish mins- the focus area of the week
30ish mins- application of the focus area to improving handstands and backbends.
