Class Structure

WELCOME!

WE HOPE YOU ARE AS EXCITED AS WE ARE TO TEACH THESE FANTASTICS PROGRAMS AT FLYING YOGIS.

THIS IS A GUIDELINE ABOUT HOW TO RUN OUR CLASES. 

IN THIS MODULE YOU WILL FIND OUR CLASSES  AND ITS STRUCTURE.

1. CLASSES AND STRUCTURE

FAMILY YOGA CLASS – 40 min

◆  10 min – arrive… Play on equipment- go up to each child and challenge them on a skill- like forward roll on wedge/ or a spiderman handstand etc.

◆ 10 min – Everyone sits on bolsters, set up in a circle- healing bowl… Ask parent / child their favourite (ice cream/ colour/ healthy treat etc). Yoga salutes; then 4-5 poses (good to pop a pose card under their mat- and they take them out when it’s pose time and do their pose… then rotate around the mat and do the other poses. Or the parent/ child prepare one pose to teach to the others. 

◆  5 min – Game

◆  5 min – Acro challenges with parent. E.g. 2 acro shapes… or build up from week before and add on

◆  8 min – Gymnastics circuit… parents go around and help kids with the circuit… teacher manage one area… or help on challenging skills. 

◆  2 min – Calm/ meditation time. Read a book ; lie and breathe with parent; calm jars. etc

WHAT TO PREPARE: Music playlist, book to read at the end, yoga cards, gymnasium setup, bolsters in circle.

REMEMBER: KIDS THIS AGE NEED ROUTINE, STRUCTURE AND FAMILIARITY. 2 YEAR OLD KIDS TAKE A GOOD 4 WEEKS TO SETTLE INTO THE ROUTINE.

BENDYBODS – 45 min

◆  10 min – Arrive. Ohms, Ice breakers, breathwork, introduce theme.

◆ 5 min – Sun Salutation.

◆  5 min – Yoga poses & gym shapes associated with theme.

◆  5 min – Game associated with theme.

◆  5 min – Travels, tumbling skills.

◆  10 min – Skill focus, circuit

◆  5 min – Game, meditation, craft or read a book. Namaste + stamp

 

BENDYBODS – 55 min

◆  10 min – Ice breakers, breathwork.

◆ 5 min – Sun Salutation.

◆  5 min – Gymnastics warm up & Yoga poses

◆  8 min – Specific work

◆  8 min – Travels, tumbling skills.

◆  12 min- Circuit.

◆  7 min – Game, meditation, craft or read a book. Namaste + stamp

 

FLYING YOGIS – 60 min

◆ 8 min – Art project (mandala colour/ dream catchers, etc)

◆ 10 min – Warm up circuit

◆  10 min – Yoga routine: sun salutes & build up routine over the term.

◆  12 min – Gymnastic skill breakdown.

◆  10 min – Tumbling/ Gym circuits (if have equipment).

◆  5 min – Meditation/ mindfulness.

◆  5 min – Pack up karma yoga

Pure Acro – 60 min

◆  5 min – Arrive, free play

◆ 10 min – Ice breaker and yoga/Gym warm up

◆  10 min – Fitness circuit

◆  5 min – Game

◆  10 min – Travels, tumbling skills.

◆  15 min- Circuit.

◆  5 min – Meditation/ relaxation. Namaste + stamp
